About Us

Pheasantdale Cattle Company is family owned and operated by Lionel & Pat, Lee, CoraLee & Hadley Stilborn, where the Stilborn family has been since it was homesteaded in 1882. The farm has seen purebred cattle raised for many generations including Shorthorns in the 1930s through to the early 1950s under the Pheasantdale name and then Simmental in 1976. We started with the breeding of the British breed to Simmental bulls with AI then added the purchase of 3/4 bloods. We then added the Fullblood Simmentals prior to 1980 and the Simmental herd started to expand.

Our herd consists of 650 head of Purebred Red, Black Simmental & Fullblood & Fleckvieh and Simmental influenced females. We currently host our Annual Bull & Female Sale at the farm every March. Every year we strive to bring in new and exciting genetics to better benefit our customers.

Annually we consign commercial bred heifers to Yorkton Harvest Showdown every November, commercial bred heifers to Canadian Western Agribition, Purebred Bred Heifers to Transcon's Simmsational Sale in December and we sell roughly 60-70 commercial bred heifers off the farm every fall.
